Emballage: Inkjet printers for prototypes and small batches

The high-end inkjet systems of the Swiss manufacturer swissQprint are on show at the Emballage trade fair in Paris for the first time. The precision printers are a natural choice for prototyping and small batches. Live demonstrations in Hall 6 H/Stand 128 provide inspiration for new production solutions.
When mock-ups convey an impression that comes as close as possible to final production quality, there is no need for any further explanations and arguments. swissQprint systems deliver near-offset print quality. Nine freely configurable colour channels can be equipped with CMYK plus white, or spot colours such as orange, violet, or green. That takes the sorcery out of matching to Pantone shades. Effect varnish provides a further appealing option.

Inkjet printers are the ideal means for producing small-quantity orders and personalised items of packaging. And swissQprint machines certainly shine in terms of productivity: for example, the latest Nyala 2 model can output up to 206 square metres an hour, as well as operating non-stop when used in tandem mode. This eliminates waiting times because printing alternates between the front and rear zones of the printing table. As a result, short print runs complete in next to no time.

swissQprint inkjet systems are solidly built, extensible flatbed printers. For example, there is a board option for oversize printing (up to 3.2 x 4 m) with a convincingly clever feeding method that dispenses with a conveyor belt. Smaller-sized media make optimal use of the printing table area thanks to unique register pins that not only define the printing origin, but also serve as additional zero points. These same pins also hold the secret to double-sided printing in perfect register. In all cases, a powerful vacuum system ensures that even heat-sensitive and hard-to-handle substrates adhere perfectly flat to the printing table. swissQprint goes so far as to offer extra-powerful vacuum pumps for use with cardboard packaging. And quite independently from all this, swissQprint machines integrate seamlessly with print-and-cut workflows as well as existing RIP environments.

The specialist community is invited to visit Hall 6 H, Stand 128 and take inspiration from the possibilities that inkjet technology affords. The swissQprint team and its distribution partners from various countries keenly anticipate entering into dialogue with packaging industry professionals.
