Ernest Green & Son of Toronto, Canada, became an official distribution partner of swissQprint, the Swiss manufacturer of high-end, large-format UV inkjet printers, in February 2014. Two systems have crossed the ocean already: one stands in the company's Toronto showroom, while the other is now with the first customer in Montreal.
This is not swissQprint's first representation in the Americas: for the past five years, wifag//polytype has been caring for 22 machines across the USA and Mexico. By adding Ernest Green & Son (EGS) to its list of distribution partners, the up-and-coming Swiss company now gains access to the continent's northernmost territory.
EGS is the largest dealer and service provider for printing technology in Canada, with extensive offerings that range from hardware through consumables to consulting on process integration. The company has operated in the printing supplies industry since the day it was founded over 50 years ago, expanding with every advance in technology. Digital printing thus joined the existing fields of business some four years ago, with the swissQprint product range now fully part of the EGS offering.
Even before acquiring official partner status, EGS was able to raise enthusiasm for the Swiss systems among quality-conscious customers. The first machine, an Oryx, entered service in Montreal at the end of January. Prospective customers can now witness a swissQprint Impala printer in action at the EGS showroom in Toronto. A 12-strong sales and service team is in fit shape after intensive training, and keen to offer first-class advice.
