SACMI Packaging takes centre-stage at Propak Africa 2019

From compression technology to complete pellet-to-pallet plants offering full integration, innovation, sustainability and control. SACMI continues to perform well in Africa's biggest economy and is now set to take part in the industry's biggest event

Based in Cape Town, SACMI South Africa is pivotal to the SACMI Closures and Beverage business's continent-wide development strategy. Bringing together the industry's major players in what is Africa's most advanced economy, the international Propak Africa fair will be held in Johannesburg (Expo Centre Nasrec) from 12 to 15 March 2019.

This event (one of the slogans of which is “Packaging for the Future”) will see SACMI, which recently made further significant additions to its Closures customer list, out in force. Decades of experience and know-how in compression technology have given the Group a pivotal role. Moreover, another key sale was recently made in South Africa, this time for CCM presses, machines characterised by the lowest running costs on the market, efficiency, sustainability and performance.

Recent developments on the CCM also include the application of compression technology for the manufacture of single-serve capsules for coffee, tea and other food&drink products. This solution makes the most of the intrinsic values of this technology and has been designed to keep pace with the growing market demand for such single-serve products.

In recent years SACMI has extended and perfected its technology by focusing on innovation and control. This has seen the range move beyond plastic cap production compression presses to include the IPS platform for PET preforms, a solution specifically designed to maximise versatility and automation at every stage of preform production and handling.

A company with a global reputation and the industry leader across multiple packaging systems and technologies, SACMI will be seizing the opportunity offered by the Johannesburg fair to showcase its complete beverage plant range. Stretch-blow moulding machines, fillers and labellers have been smoothly merged to form a single, high performance process (SACMI HeroLine) that provides an all-round response to the needs of both converters and bottlers; moreover, manufacturers can also count on in-depth consultancy from the R&D Beverage Lab, certified by the industry's top players.

All machines are fitted with a complete array of inspection systems and the Customer Service Division offers comprehensive assistance. This means SACMI is capable of ensuring total quality control, together with an advanced package of remote assistance tools to ensure manufacturers always get only the very best from their SACMI machines.
