How much IT does an airline require? And how can IT improve the healthcare system? Industrial users are today more reliant than ever on IT solutions that simplify, streamline and automate their processes. The Industrial Users Conference at CeBIT is dedicated to this important topic. Boasting an array of focal points, the five-day event is designed to bring together experts from specific sectors:
On Monday, 10 March, the focus will be on energy and in particular security in smart grids and processing centres as key technologies in the transition from fossil fuels to renewables.
On the Tuesday, Industrie 4.0 takes centre stage. Christian Illek, CEO of Microsoft Deutschland, explains: "Industrie 4.0 stands for global competition. The challenge is to reach the next evolutionary stage of industrial value added as quickly as possible. Companies that only move over to intelligent IT infrastructures in production are not doing enough. Machines and sensors that exchange data in an 'Internet of Things' are just one side of the coin. Automotive and aviation is the topic on Wednesday, 12 March. Dr. Gunter Küchler, Member of the Board of Lufthansa Systems AG, will talk about IT solutions for airlines during the Industrial Users Conference: "The business processes used by the airline industry are characterized by their exceedingly high complexity and dynamism. Health and M2M solutions will be in the spotlight on Thursday. One of the participating companies is KYOCERA.
