IIJ on rapid growth curve after massive demand increase for print engines

Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) has doubled the size of its manufacturing base in Cambridgeshire to cope with a massive increase in demand for its print engines.

The workforce has gone up from 25 to 40 this year to cope with a 50% sales growth in 2014.

John Corrall, Managing Director of IIJ, said: "While other companies in similar markets have been laying off staff and suffering due to a perceived global slowdown, we are continuing to expand at an ever-faster rate. The security, labelling and product decoration markets have provided the strongest growth."

IIJ, which uses Konica Minolta inkjet print head technologies, provides bespoke systems for customers in numerous industries. Customers range from forward-thinking niche integrators and printers right up to global giants in sectors such as pharmaceutical, security printing, confectionery flooring and laminates.

Active recruitment is currently taking place across all sectors and IIJ is also ramping up its R&D, where a further six-figure investment has been made in test and manufacturing systems in the past month, as well as adding in a mezzanine floor to its UK headquarters.
