matchmycolor LLC, together with Konica Minolta Sensing Europe B.V., will be exhibiting extended Colibri® color management solutions at PCD 2014 (Packaging of Perfume, Cosmetics & Design) in Paris on February 5 and 6, 2014. Colibri® is now being used to design, match and monitor the colors of perfumes and is also highly suitable for managing packaging colors. Color management systems for perfumes as well as numerous other products will be demonstrated at the color management hub, A34.
"Colibri® greatly accelerates the entire color process and facilitates the achievement of batch-to-batch color consistency, helping to make sure that perfumes reach the market on time," says Judy van de Langkruis, Managing Partner at matchmycolor LLC. "Harmony between content and packaging colors is also important for a company's image and brand."
LVMH Fragrance Brands has introduced Colibri® color management software to ensure fast matching and an identical visual result from one batch to another. Simple, accurate formulation enables correct calculation of the amounts of colorants needed to obtain the target shade as of the first test.
"Colibri® reduces the total preparation time of 10 liters of perfume from two or three hours to 20 minutes, saving 700-800 hours a year," explains Stéphane Dubus, Head of the Production Laboratory at LVMH Fragrance Brands' Vervins site in France. "LVMH Fragrance Brands can now also guarantee the reproducibility of stock solutions despite differences in harvests. Fast matching and right-first-time results save time and money in production as well as preventing severe impacts on the supply chain caused by delays in packaging, shipment and delivery."
matchmycolor and LVMH Fragrance Brands are currently discussing further ways of speeding up production with fully integrated, automated matching and correction. Colibri® can manage the entire color value chain from selection and specification of colors for packaging and content to production of the final product.
