Beach trip with butterflies

Environmental Photo Festival Horizonte Zingst showcases "Butterfly" large format prints directly on the beach of the Baltic Sea coast

Everyone enjoying butterflies, beach walks and impressive fine art prints should put a mark in their calendars for the Environmental Photo Festival "Horizonte Zingst" from May 24 till June 1. As long time partner Neschen AG is once again joining the exhibition: In 2014, the coating specialist from Bückeburg is delivering once again digital print media and protective laminates for the open-air-installation. In addition, Neschen experts support the exhibition with their specialist know how in photography and digital printing.

Among other impressive outdoor installations the XXL-picture show "Butterfly", located at the Zingst Seebrücke, is of particular interest and one of the main attractions of the event. Butterfly images from Jan Michael Hosan align themselves to the overall theme "be careful". It is the leading theme of the exhibition that with huge and great fine art prints, each three by three meters, raises awareness among the visitors for nature and environmental protection. The central message: Dealing responsibly with nature.

"Horizonte Zingst focuses on photography for 10 days. The spectrum ranges from moving nature photos right up to international photo art", Klaus Tiedge, curator, says. "The scope for encounters is a conceptually integral part of this festival. The whole place and magnificent landscape that surrounds it, is all about photography."

The open air installations, directly by the water, always attract special attention. Since the exhibits at these places are exposed to extreme weather conditions, the digital prints must meet very high quality standards. Therefore they are protected by the Neschen laminate "filmolux performance matt". This premium quality high performance media provides strong UV protection and has an outdoor life of up to two years (even without edge sealing).

Due to lamination with Neschen protection foil the exhibits receive a satin surface finish and mechanical protection. As the foil diffuses reflections, visitors are not dazzled when looking at the exhibits, even in strong sunshine. The superior quality and long durability of the large format prints prompted Sylt, last year, to borrow and install the large format photos from Zingst on their island, too.

For all fine art prints Neschen digital print substrate "solvoprint performance 80" is used by the organisers. The self-adhesive white glossy PVC media provides high colour brilliance and photorealistic print quality. Printing is executed on a SureColor inkjet system from Epson with weather resistant inks featuring UV and water resistance.

This year the Environmental Photo Festival "Horizonte Zingst" is taking place for the 7th time. The open air installation "Butterfly" near Zingst Seebrücke can be seen from May 24 to June 1, 2014.
