Husky takes hot runner and controller capability to the next level - innovative technologies for total mold control at Fakuma 2014

Husky Injection Molding Systems today announced that it will showcase its latest technologies in hot runners and controllers at Fakuma 2014 (October 14 - 18, Friedrichshafen, Germany), including UNIFYT pre-assembled manifold systems, ALTANIUM MATRIX2T hot runner and mold controllers, and an exciting first look at our ground-breaking next generation valve gate nozzles.

Husky recently established its hot runners and controllers business as a strategic priority and is focused on developing innovative products and services that solve customers' key injection molding challenges in areas such as gate quality and ease of use, while providing total mold control. Husky's ALTANIUM® controllers are built on a software platform that allows for greater integration with other Husky products, providing a foundation to support total mold control with mold servo controlled actuation, in addition to valve gate and temperature control.

Husky's presence at Fakuma will take a targeted approach by displaying hot runner and controller technology to serve key markets, including medical, automotive and closures. The technologies to be exhibited include our range of ALTANIUM® controllers, including the new ALTANIUM MATRIX2T, new integrated control cards for all ALTANIUM® controllers, and our ULTRASYNC-ET hot runner to demonstrate the advantages of stem motion control. In addition, we will be featuring our UNIFYT pre-assembled manifold system, designed to simplify hot runner installation by providing one-step installation of the hot runner manifold into a mold without needing to pre-heat the system. Husky will also focus on gate quality, demonstrating ULTRA SIDEGATET technology that makes direct gating easy, and revealing its revolutionary new valve gate technology. Husky's next generation nozzles provide the ability to direct gate parts and still have gate quality that looks as clean as an ejector pin mark.

"Our new valve gate nozzles are a game-changer in the hot runner industry," said Gerardo Chiaia, Husky's President of Hot Runners. "A revolution in valve gating, these nozzles will provide the best gate vestige in the industry through a combination of new manufacturing techniques and advanced materials. Husky has always focused on a culture of innovation; driving superior technology development that exceeds customer expectations, and our next generation nozzles are a prime example of that approach."

Husky's goal is to be the industry's first choice for melt delivery systems and adopt a scientific approach to reducing sources of waste and variability in the injection molding process. This goal has led the company to introduce new design and manufacturing processes to help make Husky hot runners the most thermally uniform in the industry. This approach will take hot runner and controller capability to the next level, with a range of innovative technologies that provide customers with total mold control
