Bible & Gospel Trust switches CtP supplier

A Suprasetter A75 replaced an Agfa Palladio CtP system at the Bible & Gospel Trust in Chessington last month. Training has now taken place on the Prepress Manager suite of software, which includes the Signa Station imposition package.

The company reviewed alternative CtP systems from Agfa, Fuji and Screen but decided to order the Heidelberg's Suprasetter. A member of the prepress team at Bible & Gospel Trust explains: "The Suprasetter gave us better functionality and we know Heidelberg's back up and spare parts supply can be relied upon, which is very important to us."

The company produces books, printed black and white on 45gsm paper, on two two-colour perfectors, both Speedmaster SM 74s.

One of the particular attractions of the new set up is the use of hot folders which will allow any member of prepress to drop in PDFs, to automatically create an imposition and output the plates. This takes the pressure off the skills within the prepress team and will prevent bottlenecks. The Suprasetter is supplied with a Dual Top Loader which can house 50 to 100 B2 plates, depending on plate thickness, which will prevent hold ups with output.

The company is using Heidelberg's Saphira Chem-free 101 plates, an environmentally friendly choice, and up to 22 plates an hour can be produced.
