technotrans is expecting to field a number of enquiries about its extension into digital press cooling and about its service products after a record quarter of maintenance contracts sales.
"As well as installing an increasing number of temperature control devices for digital presses over the last six months, we have had a record-breaking quarter for maintenance contracts and this reflects a recognition that companies cannot afford press downtime or to have a press running at anything less than full efficiency," says Peter Benton.
"The other hot issue is the impending ban of recycled R22 refrigerant, from 1 January 2015, because of its ozone depleting impact. Virgin R22 was banned four years ago. These R22 refrigerants can be replaced with alternatives like R407C. Alternatively the complete equipment can be replaced, often leading to greater efficiency. Any printer with cooling devices that are more than ten years old needs to check the information on their equipment to see if they need to take action."
The new technotrans' beta.c.eco circulator will feature on the Komori HUV press which incorporates digital scroll energy saving cooling technology. This means that the compressors which normally run either at 0 or 100% output are able to operate at variable speed, saving energy and reducing carbon impact. This is part of a whole environmental package which also includes beta.f filtration for cleaning and recycling dampening solution, reducing the amount of chemistry consumed and in need of disposal.
Although the technotrans' stand will not feature equipment there will be experts on hand to discuss a pressroom audit and also detail specific solutions for water treatment (right pH and hardness), filtration, bulk and cartridge based inking, temperature control and water-cooled peripherals and humidification.
