18th edition of Middle East's largest 'Sign and Graphic' show inaugurated in Dubai

'SGI Dubai', an official DSF 2015 event, is showcasing innovative printers worth over AED 200 million
'SGI Dubai 2015', Middle East's largest sign and graphic imaging show was today officially inaugurated by Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Director General of Dubai Government Media Office. This is an official 'Dubai Shopping Festival' event for the fourth consecutive year. SGI Dubai is showcasing innovative printers and digital signage panels worth over AED200 million.

Mr. Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of International Expo-Consults and Mr. Sharif Rahman, CEO of International Expo-Consults and several other senior industry officials and delegates were present during the inauguration of the 18th edition of the show.
According to Smithers Pira report, printing industry revenues in the MENA region is forecast to grow at 7.2% per annum and this would is expected to touch US$26 billion by 2018.
Being the largest exhibition of its kind in the Middle East, SGI Dubai has exhibitors and visitors from across the world who mutually stand to benefit from each other's presence. This mega event is a one-stop-shop where exhibitors and visitors can interact with sign makers, print and production manufacturers, architects, media agencies, real-estate developers and brand consultants. The show is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center – Sheikh Saeed Halls 1 & 3 SGI Dubai from 11th to 13th January 2015.

During the inauguration, Mr. Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of IEC stated that, "Confidence has returned to the region in a big way post Dubai's Expo 2020 win and we can see the development happening around us at a breakneck speed. The demand within the printing and signage industry has grown tremendously and I am sure the stakeholders in this industry have experienced this growth since the last few years. SGI Dubai is aptly positioned to cater to the demands of the industry and is in sync with the exponential growth that the region is witnessing".
"We are delighted to see the response from our valued exhibitors and trade visitors from all corners of the globe. Year 2015 will chart new heights for the industry as there are several new projects taking shape and will be delivered in the next 4-5 years. The signage and printing market will surely gain by this new wave of real-estate and other infrastructure projects. The industry is growing and this is a very positive sign," added Mr.Falaknaz.
SGI Dubai 2015 welcomed over 400 global exhibitors from across 34 countries and expects over 12000 trade visitors from 78 countries to visit UAE during the show during these three days. The event is showcasing state-of-the-art large format printers from major players from across the globe in addition to POP/POS, substrates, ink and the CNC/laser machines.
"The participation that we are seeing from both the exhibitors and trade visitors signifies the growth potential of the industry. We are delighted to see a phenomenal first day at SGI Dubai 2015. We have hundreds of exhibitors and trade visitors visiting our show and it is growing each year. Our exhibitors have signed multi-million dollar deals even during recession at our show. The next few years will be on a fast growth trajectory as compared to 2014. Several new projects are being announced and all this will propel the market growth," said Mr. Sharif Rahman, CEO, IEC.
"The event showcased an impressive array of the latest product innovations from across the globe that is set to hit the market this year and we are confident that the following two days will see a huge volume of business deals," added Mr.Rahman.
In addition to the Middle East, several brands from Germany, Turkey, Italy and Far East and US, were present at the show. Global brands such as HP, EPSON, Seiko, AGFA, Fujifilm, Flex Europa and regional giants such as Signtrade International, DIGIMatrix unveiled their latest products at the show. IEC is expecting people from the region and also globally from across the GCC, Africa, the Sub Continent, Europe, Asia, CIS States, USA among other geographies to attend the show.
