At SGI Dubai 2016 large format printing for outdoors will once again be a key area that especially print service providers from the Middle East and African regions are looking keenly forward to. The Middle East has many different outdoor formats that quite often exceed those in Europe and the US in terms of size and requirements – the world's longest hoarding, the world's biggest building wrap and many more records resulting from very large format printing can be attributed to Dubai and the Middle East region.

The global growth of advertising expenditures is predicted to grow by 5.8% in 2015 and 6.1% in 2016 thus increasing the global sum of adspend of 537 bn US$. The MENA region outpaces this with a predicted rise in advertising expenditure of 7.1% overall in the next years. Outdoor advertising will show a steady growth of 5.5% in 2016 and 6% and for 2016.

Several applications and projects are quite common in the Middle Eastern countries while rarely seen abroad. Hoarding is one of those applications that along a road sometimes for kilometers, are mounted. Those applications require not only knowledge and experience in outdoor printing, but also special techniques and reliable machinery able to produce those giant projects. No wonder then, that the record for the longest hoarding with over 5 km length can be claimed by Dubai in UAE.

With all the high rise buildings in Dubai and beyond across the whole of UAE, the title for the biggest building wrap also goes to this city. Dubai, being the 5th fastest growing city in the world, thus underlines its reputation of a forward-thinking city that presents opportunities.

New projects such as the Expo 2020 project in Dubai, that has been announced by the government and will present the region with 150,000 to 200,000 new jobs, are just some of the opportunities posing themselves to the printers in the region. Not to mention further projects in neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia that shows a growth rate of 10% for digital printing, Qatar (World Cup 2022 project), African market and many more that all require printing services for outdoor signage. There is a strong demand for signage in the years to come.

As the longest running and biggest exhibition for signage, graphics and imaging industries, SGI Dubai 2016 is uniquely positioned to meet all the demands of signage printers from all over the globe. Be it software, hardware or finishing machines, all will be shown at SGI Dubai 2016 from January 10-12, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

"At SGI Dubai 2016 we will see once again visitors from all over the world looking to increase their business and production. With an attendance of 52% top level management at last years edition, SGI Dubai 2016 is the decision-making show for printers and all market participants from GCC, the MENA region and beyond", says Mr. Sharif Rahman, CEO, IEC. " Printers from the region and beyond are innovative and environmentally conscious which paired with the vast offerings of production solutions and the multitude of opportunities arising in the MENA region places SGI Dubai 2016 at the forefront of exhibitions that are a must to visit. Steady growth of this advertising sector proves that outdoor signage is in high demand, especially with all the upcoming projects including the Expo 2020 in Dubai that is expected to reach a spending of 88bnDHS (24bnUS$) will increase demand for outdoor signage significantly. New advertising materials, environmentally friendly solutions and prints have a great future."
