INTERPACK - SIPA highlights flexibility with four Flextronic filler configurations on stand 13/B73

Flextronic  is the new range of modular filler designed to ensure extremely high performance and reliability. This range is the result of a long design period that led to the creation of a high quality product, featuring the best solutions and components available on the market today. Speed, strength, cleanability and flexibility are the key points of this project.

In terms of  flexibility, in particular, Flextronic fillers are ideal for packaging companies with a broad mix of products that they may need to run for relatively short periods, on a limited number of lines, as well as operators moving into new and fast-developing areas, where it is unclear at the outset what the major product will ultimately be, and where equipment adaptability is a priority.

Flexibility through modularity

The modularity of the Flextronic system makes it easy to adapt to specific applications. The 'C' version, for example, is a particularly versatile isobaric filler for carbonated and non-carbonated beverages that can also handle hot-fill products. Flextronic S gravity filler, with its extremely simple non-contact membrane valve, is ideal for water, milk, homogenized juices and clear products. The Flextronic SC, also a gravity filler, has a shuttered contact-type valve for hot and cold filling of smooth and pulpy beverages. A third gravity filler, Flextronic SE, with its non-contact shuttered valve, is designed for hot and cold filling of sensitive products such as premium juices with pulps. All four versions are on the SIPA stand.

Versatile lightweight neck finish

SIPA puts a premium on flexibility across its entire portfolio, all the way from the concept and design stage of a new form of packaging, right the way through to the palletizer at the end of the production line. It designed the ground-breaking HotLight 28, for example, a 28-mm short neck finish that is shorter than standard hot-fill neck finishes, and also considerably lighter at just 3.8 g. The Hotlight 28 allows the production of hot fill and CSD containers on the same machine without any personalization change.

Quick conversion in bottle blowing

Flexibility is also evident in SIPA bottle production systems. A single SFR EVO 3 rotary stretch-blow molding system, for example, can produce bottles for a wide range of drinks. Without changing the mold shells, it can be quickly converted from producing bottles for water or carbonated soft drinks to bottles for hot-fill applications.

Palletizing system fits all needs

SIPA's Filling and Packaging Division has one of the most complete and advanced solutions on the market today. With its Active Layer and Fastlayer systems, SIPA can cover all customer requirements, both in term of productivity and logistics. No manual intervention is required in the Fastlayer area when there is a change in format of the product to be palletized-important when formats change frequently
