Nagai Print prints short-run and variable size labels with the VersaUV

Award-winning Japanese print supplier, Nagai Print, purchased the VersaUV to help supply label, decal and point-of-purchase materials to the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry.

Prior to purchasing the VersaUV they had found it expensive to produce samples and proofs directly via their existing label printer and frequently found that margins were tight on small-lot orders due to the set-up costs involved. They also found that when customers brought in their own media they could not always support this with their existing print machine.

With the VersaUV they now find that they can print highly accurate samples and proofs on demand at an affordable cost. Plus they can now accommodate virtually any media that their customers choose. And with the clear and white inks they can now surprise and impress their clients with premium effects and finishes that were hitherto unachievable.

When it comes to printing labels of varying size and shape they had previously found it extremely time-consuming to create the die for each type of label. But with the print-and-cut functionality of the LEC their costs were lowered due to being able to create labels of any size and shape automatically.

Nagai Print won the 2010 World Label Association award for digital printing with a birdcage image, which incorporates a beautiful fine lace pattern produced on the VersaUV. This image has also been applied to make-up kits to create a premium high-end look.
