Polymer Group, Inc. Announces Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate Expansion at Old Hickory Manufacturing Facility

Event will herald culmination of capital investments at key facility serving PGI's global specialty materials business

Polymer Group, Inc. (PGI) today announced it will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at its recently expanded Old Hickory manufacturing facility – located at 70 Old Hickory Blvd. in Old Hickory, Tenn. – on September 17, 2014, at 8 a.m. CDT. The event will celebrate investments made since PGI's acquisition of the plant as part of its 2013 acquisition of Fiberweb, PLC, a UK-based global developer and manufacturer of specialty materials serving a variety of end markets such as healthcare, homebuilding, filtration, home care and personal care.

"Our Old Hickory manufacturing facility is a key component of our global specialty materials business," said J. Joel Hackney Jr., Chief Executive Officer for PGI. "We are excited to showcase our significant investment and the work of our dedicated employees, who have worked tirelessly on the plant expansion. These employees work every day producing PGI products, which help our customers create a safer, cleaner, healthier world."

PGI's Old Hickory facility is one of the largest sites in the PGI family not only in physical size but in resin consumption and weekly sales. The plant sits on 68 acres and employs 433 people while producing materials – including the unique REEMAY® and TYPAR® brands – that serve more than 2,000 customers globally.

"Our Old Hickory facility is equipped with some of the industry's most-sought-after technology and hosts an innovation center designed to advance extrusion, fiber spinning, web forming and coating technologies," said Hackney. "The expansion streamlines the operations and helps reduce the carbon footprint and utility consumption. Old Hickory is a key facility in helping us deliver on our strategy of accelerated and sustainable growth as we enter new market segments and expanding PGI's global footprint."
